Photography is more than silver on paper or pixels on a screen. As a photographer you are charged with telling a story with each image you create. Learning this art takes an enduring commitment to growth and study. Most instructors teach a formula that is a means to an end.  Expanding the way you see photography and pairing your vision with a solid foundation will enable you to create images that you never knew were possible. Ansel Adams once said that “industry standards breed standard results”. As a teacher, Michael is committed to unleashing the extraordinary in his students and this requires unconventional means. To this end, Michael Barton Education has developed a series of intimate workshops that are designed to build on each other to instill a well rounded education creating a synergy and an unparalleled learning experience.

We all retain knowledge in different ways.  For this reason, Michael offers private lessons and consultations. Many photographers find it helpful to invest in one on one time, reinforcing workshop concepts while moving at their own pace. Although the workshops cover a broad range of topics, You may have needs that would be better served with a one on one session. Michael has been worked with many small businesses to establish an efficient workflow with consistent and predictable results.
